Uvillas

These aren't yellow cherry tomatoes. They little plump balls of tartness -- fruit that Kiki found for me in Ecuador

Cerviche

Ever since arriving in the industrial seaport of Esmeraldas, I've had difficulty thinking of any food other than cerviche. From the restaurant next to the Kennedy hotel I can see the cranes to lift the large containers onto the ships. With all the industry, I am amazed at the freshness of the camarones I eat. Lime, cilantro and the plumpest, freshest shrimp is what I'll miss when I return to the States.
